From 1991-2000 2,249,421 people came to America. The main reason that they immigrated to America was for jobs, money, better pay, and to support their families. Some of the reasons that they left Mexico was because there wasn't any jobs available and the economy was really bad at the time. Some of the jobs that were taken were jobs that required little or no experience and payed almost nothing. Some jobs that were popular with Mexican immigrants were agriculture, construction, babysitting, and cleaning. Some other jobs was working in factories, restaurants, car washes, and dry cleaners, in general they like to occupy small businesses. When they left Mexico some trends were that they would leave their families behind, come in groups, and sometimes dig under or climb over the fence. Once they get across the border they often stay in California with friends or family. They usually only stay for a short period of time. After they leave there friends or family they often settle in big cities with other Mexican families. Some families stay in California or the original state where they came and find work right away.
